My husband and I are from Winnipeg, Canada and we worked with iRock Weddings for our destination wedding and had a positive experience overall, particularly due to the support we received during our events at Moon Palace Cancun.
JT was extremely accessible throughout our wedding planning process and ensured there was direct oversight so that execution of our events went well. When issues needed to be escalated, both JT, and the owner, Deepa, made themselves available, which we appreciated.
The true strength of our experience came from the local team we worked with during the wedding week. The resort itself was less than ideal to work with — we experienced slow response times, inaccurate or changing information, and what often felt like price gouging throughout the planning process. These challenges added stress leading up to the events.
That said, Sabrina, Kenya, Cony and Alex were exceptional and made all the difference. As locals, they were able to navigate the language barrier with the resort, communicate effectively on our behalf, and step in to resolve issues as they arose. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and calm approach kept us level-headed during moments that could have easily become overwhelming.
Sabrina was one of our lead planners. She is very professional, helpful, action-oriented, and thoughtful in her decision-making.
During our wedding events, in addition to Sabrina, we had the pleasure to work with Kenya, Cony and Alex. Kenya was incredibly knowledgeable, kind and supportive, and Alex was a reliable member of the team who contributed consistently throughout the events.
A special thank you to Cony, who was with us the most and truly stood out. She maintained an incredible attitude, helped us stay organized, and ensured things were executed smoothly despite some ongoing challenges with the resort.
Because of Sabrina, Kenya, Cony & Alex, we were able to focus on being present as a bride and groom, spend time with our guests, and fully experience our wedding events.
Ultimately, while the planning process had its challenges in the beginning, the on-site iRock team played a crucial role in ensuring our wedding week ran as smoothly as possible. In the end, we are very glad we hired iRock Weddings and would recommend them to South Asian couples planning destination weddings.
I worked with Deepa on a post-pandemic wedding over the course of 2 years (we had to delay the wedding multiple times due to concerns for COVID-19). We had a few bumps/challenges along the way in terms of communication (we planned the wedding over Zoom/were in a long-distance planning relationship), but the week of the wedding, she and the team were absolutely amazing and made the week effortless and fun for the groom, my guests, and I. She went out of the way to make sure my guests were comfortable (including my sister-in-law) and that the decorations/events went off without a hitch, and that in itself made her services worth it!! She also suggested amazing vendors, who I felt also became our friends/more like wedding guests by the end of our week together.
I would mention that overall, we did have some issues communicating in the year before the wedding, and I did have to take a very active role in the wedding planning (double-checking certain details, following up with my guests on my own, etc.), but she absolutely was a wonderful person to work with. So if you are very picky about certain details about your wedding day or want to be very hands-off, I'm not sure she is the right planner for you!
I also would NOT recommend using the travel agency she works with, as one member we attempted to interact with was very rude and not particularly helpful, especially when a few of our guests got stranded due to medical issues and were trying to reschedule their flights/adjust their packages.
Overall, the experience and her wedding-planning team was wonderful, and I would not have changed a thing about my wedding week, and I definitely would not have chosen any other planner!!

We truly cannot say enough about iRockWeddings & HypeTravel and the incredible year-long journey we shared planning our 2025 wedding. I researched countless planners, and from day one, Deepa, JT, and their team made the process seamless and effortless.
We were introduced to our lead planner, Alex, who from the very first conversation went above and beyond to understand our vision and bring it to life in the most beautiful, extraordinary way possible. Every single detail – big and small (and there were many!) – was handled with such care, creativity, and professionalism. He stayed on top of every communication from the vendors, ensuring nothing ever fell through the cracks.
On short notice, Alex even coordinated an in-person meeting with all our vendors while we happened to be in Cancun – a true testament to his dedication and multitasking skills. No matter the time – 7 a.m. or 2 a.m. – we could always count on him.
During the wedding week itself, Alex and his team were everywhere and anywhere all at once, ensuring every event ran flawlessly while making us feel calm, cared for, and fully present in each moment. Chris & I were even assigned our own personal planners from the team. Cony and Carlos allowed us to truly soak it all in as bride and groom without worrying about a thing – they were always two steps ahead. Forget the saying “brides don’t eat on their wedding day” - they made sure we would have time to eat multiple plates of food from each event.
One of my biggest concerns early on was whether we would truly get what we paid for, especially planning a wedding abroad. Deepa reassured us in our first meeting that the team would make sure every single flower we paid for would be there – and she was absolutely right. The team was on-site during the setup, ensuring every décor and floral detail surpassed perfection, triple-checking timelines and quality.
Of course, no wedding is without a few unexpected moments, but we were beyond lucky to have a team that handled every hiccup instantly and gracefully – helped us get new welcome bag items that were held at customs, replenished bangles at the bangle bar, relighting a chandelier, secured programs and fans to the wedding chairs in high winds, adjusted the sound system during the ceremony, adjusted the floral tunnel length and dimensions. Nothing was too big or small for them to handle.
We are endlessly grateful for all the heart, dedication, and care poured into our celebration. It was truly more than we ever imagined. Our guests are still raving about how incredible the entire iRockWeddings team was – by the end of it all, it felt like we had become one big family.
